If you decide to go to Sao Miguel we can assure you there is no better way to see the island than go with Ricardo in his nice, clean and air-conditioned Mercedes. He knows everything that is worth knowing about the island and he shares his knowledge in a very amusing and interesting way. He is more than flexible; we travelled with a baby and he was very understanding about the baby´s needs and he loves kids and is so good with them. As if this was not enough, he is a charming, fun and kind person. He is the king of Sao Miguel! The Swedish couple with the little terrorista.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful week on the beautiful Island of Sao Miguel. We certainly made the best choice in taking a couple of tours with Ricardo. We were driven around in an air conditioned car and visited places which would otherwise have been inaccessible for a tour bus. Ricardo was an entertaining chauffeur, he knows everything there is to know about the island, and he was more than willing to answer all our questions about the island,it's people and culture. I can thoroughly recommend him!

Hi Ricardo and all who may read this. My family and I would like to thank you for a wonderful and amazing tour on the Sao Miguel island. It was truly a great success to us all. After the tour, we were all very tired; mostly because of all the impressions we got during the day. We did not attend other excursions after that, as we felt we had seen it all. I will not hesitate to recommend one of Ricardo’s tours round the island to everyone I know and who reads this. You will see so much more than if you drive yourself (especially if you are the driver). And if you drive yourself, you may end up, reversing for a mile or so up a 30% steep dirt track. Let Ricardo handle that and enjoy instead. Ricardo drives very carefully and at low speed, which made us feel both comfortable and relaxed. His air-conditioned Mercedes brought us to places where busses cannot come and where we would otherwise not know we could go. We saw a great deal of the beautiful island on the almost 10 hour trip. It’s also worth to mention that motion sickness, was no problem due to his careful driving and the frequent stops. He is flexible and makes frequent stops and whenever you want. He is very good with children and sensed that my daughter likes horses. Soon after, he stopped at a farm with a lot of hoses to pad. He is so full of information that all the travel guides in the world cannot compete. Don't forget to book him in advance, if you go to the Azores. To anyone considering using Ricardo Amorim and his Amazing Tours: My wife Dorothy and I were on a trans-Atlantic cruise this year, and we contacted Ricardo through his website to set up a tour of Sao Miguel. Our time in port was very limited, so it was necessary to take advantage of what time there was there. Ricardo e-mailed me saying that he would meet us on the pier holding a sign with my name on it. The ship was about 2 hours late, but he was there waiting, right at the end of the pier as promised with that sign. Ricardo is a very personable young man who speaks delightful English (as well as many others languages) and makes a great tour guide. I had met another couple on the cruise who wanted to go with us, so the four of us got into Ricardo's immaculate Mercedes and began the tour. His knowledge of his island is very broad and he keeps a running commentary of just about everything you see.

He crammed a great deal of sight seeing and information into a very small time, about three hours, and I can't say enough good things about this personable young man. The day began sunny, but rapidly became overcast with rain. On the way to see the volcanic lakes, Ricardo knew that the rapidly closing weather conditions would make it impossible to see from the normal vantage points, so he chose alternate sites just under the lowering clouds which allowed us perfect views of the lakes. When the tour was over and we had returned to the ship, all of the passengers on the ship's tour were complaining that they weren't able to see anything but rain and clouds and that their tours were a complete waste. Thanks to Ricardo, our tour was both delightful, informative and less expensive than the ship's tour. Have absolutely no reservations at all about using this responsible young man for any tour that you might be considering. He is well worth your time and money. Ricardo, I know that this is somewhat late in coming, but I want to thank you for the great tour and for making our visit to your beautiful country even more exciting and informative. Hej Ricardo, skriver på svenska, så att du får öva dig lite. Vi var på Azorerna under två fantastiska veckor i slutet av maj och början av juni 2004. Vi fick ganska snart kontakt med Ricardo, genom hotellets gästbok. Vi ångrar inte för en minut att vi valde Amazingtours istället för att hyra bil eller åka på bussutflykter. Ricardo tog med oss under ett antal dagar till de mest fantastiska ställen, dit vi inte kunnat leta oss själva. Tillsammans med hans trevliga sätt och kunnighet om "allt" på ön, blev vår semester oförglömlig. Vi vill verkligen tacka Ricardo för utomordentlig guidning, och högsta servicegrad. Till slut vill vi gratulera till Portugals finalplats i fotbolls EM, tyvärr räckte det inte ända fram, men ni gjorde en toppenturnering.
