Although we had been on a number of coach tours around St Miguel on our previous four vacations, travelling with you in your Mercedes was such a wonderful way to explore your Island. You took us to places we had not seen before and were not possible to visit in a coach. We arrived without the usual coach crowds and were able to stay and enjoy so many beautiful views and villages for as long as we liked. We travelled so safely with your careful driving and were able to stop to take photographs whenever we wanted. ( Your website photographs make us jealous - you are obviously a multi-talented taxi man!!) We only realized at the end of each of the eight hour tours how carefully you had planned the itineraries so that we missed any cloudy areas, so that we always seemed to arrive in sunshine. We also appreciated being taken to those Azorean restaurants for morning breaks and lunches. Again free from tourists and able to sample Azorean cuisine. It was with great sadness that we had to say "Ate logo". You provide us with many "Amazing Memories". When we think back to our two weeks - it is those days that we spent in your company listening to your fascinating and often hilarious commentaries, in your excellent English, which we will always remember. Adorei tudo do website! Muito boa descricao, lindas fotos (nao podias ter escolhido melhor tempo) e abranges tudo que uma pessoa que nao conhece a ilha fica com a ideia de o quanto espectacular e a nossa ilha! Nao mostres muitas fotos do teu taxi. Uma teria sido suficiente e em vez de meteres "my cab" devias ter escrito "your tour transportation". Mas, va la, dizem que sou picky!! Parabens pelo teu site. We were at Sao Miguel in the spring 28/2-6/3, and had 2 lovely tours with you, together with (queen Mar-)Grethe and Hans Peter(er du med Eigil?), fantastic tours, where our stomacks hurt from laughing of all your jokes, but WHAT an experience, beautiful landscapes-flowers-waterfalls-vuepoints and lovely "rastepladser"!! I totally lost my heart to all this!! You said, we had to come back to see the blue hydrangeas in summertime, and so we did 26/6-10/7, one week was not enough!!! And it was just as nice and lovely as the first time, just much more flowers!!And more thanks for all your help this time, with all our tours on own hand, you simply were there everytime I called for help, but we will NEVER forget the RALLYWALK among cowshit, dust and stones!!! The highlight of our transatlantic cruise was the day we spent with our driver/guide, Ricardo Amorim. His knowledge and enthusiasm for his island was a pleasure to share. We were introduced to the hidden treasures that only a "local" could possess.
With his guidance, we came to quickly love this island that is so rich in natural wonders. With Ricardo's well-planned and balanced itinerary, we journeyed to volcanic mountains, became immersed in jungle-like settings, and enjoyed secluded lakes and picturesque waterfalls. Ricardo delighted us with an informative commentary that was delivered with charm, humour, and passion. In addition to providing a fabulous tour in his sparkling Mercedes sedan, Ricardo surpassed our expectations by taking exceptional care of our elderly mother who required the use of a wheelchair. atlanterhavet vil vi anbefale, at I ikke spilder penge og tid på
at leje bil hvis I vil på sightseeing. Kender man ikke øen vil
det dels være meget svært at finde de rigtige steder, gaderne i
de små men meget smukke byer er virkelig smalle og det vil
sansynligvis kun være passagerene der vil få noget ud af turen.
Det kræver stor opmærksomhed og koncentration at køre på øens
smalle veje tiltider med meget stejle skrænter ned som nærmeste
”autoværn”.

There is nothing like this tour. I can't sufficiently articulate how incredible our time was while in the Azores, and in Ricardo's very capable hands. He was truly amazing in his description of the sights of his homeland, and his enthusiasm of his country was contageous. My husband, Bob, and I can't wait to go back and visit again. We'll have to book Ricardo far in advance to be certain that we are on his calendar. He is so good that that we wouldn't want another tourguide, just Ricardo. Hello Ricardo, Your company, AmazingTours, is perfectly named. How many times did we say "This is amazing!" to you after you showed us some magnificent sight? It's rare to find a person both dedicated to his region who can also talk about it the way a tourist needs to hear about it. Congratulations on hitting just the right tones with us four (Tracey & Bob, and Tracey & Jr). We particularly enjoyed the warm springs pond in the middle of the forest, the lakes with the azaleas, the trip down to the natural harbour, and the views of the Sete Cidades. How you manipulate your Mercedes into those tiny spots is beyond me, but we're so lucky you could. We voted you best guide from all the ports on our 13 day cruise. We can't wait to visit your island home again. We'll be sure to call you.

Hi Ricardo, just wanted to say thank you for a truly wonderful day that my husband Alan and I spent with you back in September 2007. It was a lovely hot sunny day, and it was great to be in an air conditioned car for the day, touring the northern part of the island. I was so glad we came across your web site before we went to your lovely island on holiday, and it has got to be the only way to tour the island. It has got to be the best value for money way of seeing the island too, and of course you know all the special places to go. The best part is though, you can do exactly what you want in the hours you have hired the car for, your own special tour if you like! We would totally recomend anyone to tour the island in this way. After 28 ports in 50 days on the MS Prinsendam, this past April we came to Sao Miguel. By then we were a little tired of touring one place began to look like another. Your tour of your island was so special. and yes, Amazing!! You even stopped at the store in town and helped us pick out the 'Especial beer'. Ricardo, I came to the island for business and had only one day to spend in leisure. Although I was a woman alone, you made me comfortable, letting me know this is where you grew up, telling me stories, putting me at ease quickly. I felt relaxed and comfortable. You chose places from your island home which were breath taking. My one-day outing allowed me to return to work not only knowledgable of the place I was visiting, but with my soul replenished, full of all that God has created. Thank you for the tour you gave myself and Peter last week, to Furnas, Nordest, and all points in between! Everyone said "you can't fit all that in one day" - but you did, without ever making us feel hurried. We swam in Furnas lake, strolled around churches, admired many different viewpoints, snacked! and took some (hopefully) stunning shots of that incredible waterfall. You must have been exhausted at the end of the day, we covered a lot of miles, but we had such a short time on the island and were keen to see "highlights". We would never have managed all that in a hire car. It was just so very interesting, beautiful and (for us) relaxing. Thank you - highly recommended and hope to see you again before long. Julie x

Ricardo, what can we say!!! Our trip to Sao Miguel was incredible, thanks to you.Even the safari!! Going up and down a narrow footpath in a Mercedes was an experience we'll not soon forget!You added to our repetoire of " Blondie" jokes and we're still talking about all the laughs we had while driving on those tiny Acorean roads, going from one beautiful spot to another. But most of all we want to thank you for showing us the real beauty of Sao Miguel. You are truly passionate about your island. We knew from the very beginning that we were not on an ordinary tour.
